I ran across this site which helps homeowners find good service people, contractors, etc. Anyone have any opinions on this or know of other, better sites?

I've heard of Angie's list, and it's supposed to be extremely good for finding reputable contractors & service companies, but I'm personally too cheap to pay for it :)

I used a similar, but free, service called "Service Magic" a while ago (http://www.servicemagic.com) for a plumber and painter and the companies they recommended worked out well for me.

You have to fill out a short form describing what your project entails, then they call or email you with contact info for pre-screened companies that fit your request. If I remember correctly, they also follow up with you afterwards to make sure the work was done to your satisfaction.

Wow this servicemagic looks like a good site. We were thinking of adding a contractor review section to Housetribe but perhaps it is not necessary!!
Anyway I have to replace my roof ASAP so this will be a great help.
