vacation rentals and houses for rent. Some other things we like

Is it better to buy a single family house as an investment or a duplex, triplex or multi-unit building? I want to pay the mortgage using rent, if possible.

I hope someone will answer this because I'd like to know too. At least with a single family house you've only got one set of tennants. So it might be harder to find the right one, but at least there wouldn't be as much coming and going .
