I would love to find out about the different ways other countries approach energy concerns because I do not feel like the US is a fore runner in this. Any ideas? Shelby

Millions of ideas come to mind immediately... but i will share one. Stop our dependence on oil. With the technology we have now we could easily make the switch to other more sustainable energy sources. hmmm... the sun, wind, water to name a few. There is a country I can't remember the name right now but it is completely self-sufficient on energy w/o oil. I think about it and get back to you.

You may be thinking of iceland. They basically live on a geothermal generator. I think we'll see major progress on solar very soon because the venture capitalists are betting on it. The U.S. has lagged, but now that profits are imminent I think we will quickly take the leading role, just as with computers.
