NEIGHBORHOOD
This house is in the Museum District- an awesome neighborhood in Richmond near lots of shopping in Carytown. We can walk to any of 3 different grocery stores, and there's a big park and playground 2 blocks away. The people are friendly too.

I redid my pavers on my front walkway, but it is hot, hard work-- and they're uneven. My neighbors paid someone to do their project, and it looks great. I'm jealous. I think if I had the money I would always pay someone to do this kind of work. I enjoy thinking about doing the work, but the actual work itself is not as fun. What is the best way in the long run?

The key is in the prep work which is a drag. Pay someone to dig the area level and then you take the glory work of setting the bricks!

Expanding the flower beds in the front yard! Jul 31st 2007

I bought some plants, so I had to pull up grass so I would have space to plant them. Here is a photo of one of the new flower beds. Pulling up the grass was easy, but the 95F noonday sun added a little twist to the experience. Why you wonder, would anyone undertake this project in the middle of the day?? Because that's when Leila was sleeping!
